Sorry, folks. I go through periods of total non-sociability from time to time. Usually around this time of year, too. Hopefully by the end of the month I’ll be out of the funk.
I have to share a video. Not because of any particular reason but because this video turned me on to H.I.M. way back in the summer and I’ve been enjoying them ever since.
I’ve been doing the odd (some very odd) Bat Macro lately, and in case you hadn’t read it previously, I’ve created a livejournal community for them. If you have a Livejournal account, you can join in the fun. If you don’t, you can set one up and then never post if you don’t want to. And, please, someone start posting Bat Macros besides me. (And the lovely British lady who posted a ton of them last week.)

I made a fan site about actor Steve Bacic who at the time was one of the leads on the scifi TV series Andromeda.
Someone decided to start forums for all of the leads and asked me if I wanted to moderate the forum for Steve, and she would make a layout that matched my site so it would really look a part of my site.
I agreed, and Steve’s forum was the only one that took off.
Probably because it was the ONLY Bacic forum – the other leads had been on the show longer and already had fan sites and forums.
Eventually the someone disappeared and the forum was then ALL mine – just the way I like it. I had a moderator for a while, but then she got into World of Warcraft – even boyfriended up, and away she went.
I’ve run the Bacic forum since August 2004 and it’s a pretty comfy place – much like this blog where several of the members have met each other, mainly at conventions.

Ladies, when I get anti-social I read for hours on end. And I just read something that I felt obligated to share.
The book is “Will The Vampire People Please Leave The Lobby?” and it’s an anecdotal history of Buffy fandom. Tell me, does this sound familiar?

Yes Aiden really is a cutie. He had his oldest sister crying yesterday. Chris had been feeding him and she asked Alli if she wanted to burp him. Alli has taken babysitting courses and such but she has never actually taken care of a newborn. Alli took him and we were showing her what to do and she got all scared that he would choke and being extremely sensitive like she is she started crying.
A couple months ago she was asked what she though of having another brother. Alli said said it was wierd because it wasn’t her mom and dad having the baby. She said she didn’t think she could love him. As soon as she saw him she fell. She told Chris she didn’t want anyone else to touch him.

Oh and yesterday when I was packing up all the christmas decorations I found Harry Potter Valentine’s Day cards. You know the little ones kids give at school. I had bought them a few years ago intending to use them for my friends in grad school, but never did. I must have known instinctively that I needed to save them for some very special people. 🙂

I do live for multi-tasking…I can’t even just watch tv, I have to be doing something else at the same time. I was recently diagnosed (is that the right term, when it isn’t bad) with ADD. I feel that it explains alot about me, and why I get distracted my shiny things all the time…haha

Yeah I know how that is. I can’t just sit idle while watching TV. My hands need to be doing something. I usually crochet but that gets really tired after awhile. That is why I started the jewelry. I also read or write while watching TV.
Speaking of writing, I started a poem for Aiden and got stuck 5 or 6 lines in. Man that is really frustrating. I don’t just want it to be full of fluff. I really want it to mean something and I just can’t get it right. GRRRRRRR!

The CW is changing it’s schedule to take advantage of the writer’s strike — hopefully giving some shows a new audience and chance for surviving their competition on the other networks.
REAPER will return at 8 p.m. Jan. 15 before moving to 9 p.m. Thursdays on Feb. 28, leading out of SMALLVILLE. REAPER, which had previously led out of “Beauty and the Geek,” will replace SUPERNATURAL, which is taking a break from the schedule.
“We’re trying to give REAPER a chance as well, moving it away from (Fox’s) ‘House’ on Tuesday (at 9 p.m.) and seeing if we can find a bit more of a compatible lead-in in SMALLVILLE,” Kelly Kahl, senior executive vp program operations at CBS said.

In response to consumer demand, Warner Bros. Entertainment will release its high- definition DVD titles exclusively in the Blu-ray disc format beginning later this year, it was announced today by Barry Meyer, Chairman & CEO, Warner Bros. and Kevin Tsujihara, President, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.
“Warner Bros.’ move to exclusively release in the Blu-ray disc format is a strategic decision focused on the long term and the most direct way to give consumers what they want,” said Meyer. “The window of opportunity for high-definition DVD could be missed if format confusion continues to linger. We believe that exclusively distributing in Blu-ray will further the potential for mass market success and ultimately benefit retailers, producers, and most importantly, consumers.”
Warner Home Video will continue to release its titles in standard DVD format and Blu-ray. After a short window following their standard DVD and Blu-ray releases, all new titles will continue to be released in HD DVD until the end of May 2008.

Too cool. I managed to get a room that is nicer than the one we’ve had in years past.
My oldest has been selected for this Regional High School Honor Band for 4 years in a row. We always end up looking for a room at the last minute and have stayed in a couple of lousy spots.
This may also be the first year that we haven’t had to deal with an ice-storm for this event. Wheew! I hate driving on the ice.

It’s raining right now. Will rain until this evening (right about the time i have to go for my interview) when it will alternate between snow and rain. The high tonight is 28 but it’s supposed ot be sunny tomorrow and snowing the rest of the week…we’ll see how it goes…i might be skating home if this actually happens…

There is a really awesome bead store here called Beads East. I haven’t checked it since they moved into a bigger store. I also found some really awesome gothic looking beads and baubles at Michaels. AC Moore has a good selection and Joanne’s was pretty good too. I think my best buying experiences has been Michaels and Joanne’s though. When I went the other night to look for more clasps someone had wiped out all the stores of the lobster claw clasp. That is the one I like the most and they were out of every brand and size etc in every store.

You all have me addicted to vampire lit now. I just reserved the third Dark Hunter novel and the second Black Dagger Brotherhood book from the library. It is an 18 day wait for the Dark hunter one, which is kind of annoying….so I may end up borrowing it from one of you if you have it or just buying it myself. I am just not patient enough to wait 18 days when I get into a new series.

Oh DebS I know just what you mean. I had to run out for a Christine Feehan book on Saturday! I did find one at the used book store for 2.95 (the spine was damagaed but the story is still intact) I would have bought a new one but no one in town had a copy and the library had a three week wait! Egad!
I’ve only read the first Dark Hunter novel and don’t think I have the second one. I have collected several of the books from the ‘Friends of the Library’ book sale where they were 50 cents each, but I don’t have the earlier ones and hate to start in the middle. How much does that matter with this series?

I left with two bags and a boxful of books. I need to go through them and see what I have. I bought a whole series of Piers Anthony books (can’t remember which one off the top of my head)…anyway, as I read those I am glad to put all of those books on the book list.

Tivo is a fantastic tool. I have been able to program what are called “Wish Lists” with the names of actors and actresses I love. The wishlist will then tell me when those actors are in shows. I have Kyle, Dylan, and Christina all on a wishlist. It is handy. 🙂 I have a horrible memory, and it has given me an excuse to not use what little memory I do have.

He has been sick for sometime – acctually since I met him 4 years ago. Well appearently over the weekend he had a mild heart attack – he will be going for triple bypass thursday. Please keep him in your prayers for me.

Sorry I haven’t been around much. Lwildstar-my thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Walt.
Have been spending a lot of time over at the unnamed, unmentionable board trying to rally the troups to write letters to certain media outlets all at one time so it can have more impact. My thought was stay on them for a day or two and then move to the next one but then there’s always someone who thinks they have a better idea.
Please know that Lifetime is still sending out the same boiler plate NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME regarding Blood Ties, as late as today so I guess no news is good news.

what a day!
came back from lunch with Robin (poor thing her sister is going thru a very messy possibly violent divorce) to find that our entire system went down with no idea how long it would take to reboot – didn’t come back until around 2:30 so I was waaaay behind (well you add in being out yesturday and I’m sure you get an idea)…then I find out about Uncle Walt – anyway I get my desk cleared off in time to leave..and the phone rings (I should never answer the phone that colse to leaving) it was a friend of Uncle Walts – he use to come in about once a month to help with audits until he retired this spring – really nice guy – well he had just heard about Walt and wanted to know if I could get his address for him – he’s going to bombard Walt with cards over the weekend (I have to call him tomorrow) anyway I start chating with him, and he tells me that he just lost his life partner of 20 years just two months ago to cancer and how suporting Uncle Walt had/has been…And how much he missed coming to the office every month and joking with me….God I was near tears! I told him he was welcome to come visit anythime he liked, there were more than enough hugs for him.
So I couldn’t write a thing on the way home – sigh – but I did start chapter 24 on the way in to work this morning!
So now I’ve had three pieces of Dove chocolate – and I’m feeling a little better.
Then as soon as I walk in the door my sister calls “Your neice wants to talk to you” Great! What happened now? All she wanted was to invite me to church with them… “We just joined a church and I want you to come see.” So I told her she had to talk to Grammy (my mom) about it becasue I don’t drive and the bus doesn’t go to where they live. I’m glad they found a church that the kids are excited about going to.
So thats been my day…..

Sorry this is so long.
Thanks for the concern Danae! I’m alright. Lots of things going on though.
Sorry I haven’t been around too much lately. I’ll start off by saying that I’m in sort of the same mode Gypsy is in. I’m not sure why but I feel very introverted lately. I think a part of that might be a bad bout of depression trying to set in. I’m fighting it tooth and nail though.
Secondly, I have been utterly exhausted both mentally and physically the past month. I think it is a combination of being run-down from the surgeries, the depression and the fact that my blood sugar is running quite high right now. It’s averaging upper 200’s to the low 300’s. To battle that and because I need to lose the weight I’ve been trying to work out at least a little each night. My knees and ankles are NOT HAPPY about it though, especially my right ankle! Right now I’m stuck without an endocrinologist. Mine moved away in November and there aren’t that many in this area. I dread that appt once I do find one though. I’m already on so much medicine for the diabetes, (not insulin), that I hate to see what else the Dr. might try to put me on.
Although I’m on a much better work schedule than what I was, work is still really stressful. I’m fed up with the boy I have to sit next to. He’s been just annoying and thinks nothing of name calling even though he is a church goer. Brings the Bible to work to read it. I think that’s admirable but he needs to start practicing what he’s taught. A week ago he called me a prude, after which I told him to look up the meaning, and today he interrupted a conversation I was having with another co-worker about my dog nipping at me and told me I need to have my Boo-Boo put to sleep. That he didn’t like dogs that bit. Yeah, Boo-Boo has had biting problems and I understand that but we have control of it. We don’t let him anywhere nearly close enough to bite anyone. What can I say? It pissed me off. BIG TIME! He’s so damn immature, that sometimes I just want to slap him.He’s the same age as our Kyle. Makes me appreciate Kyle even more if that’s possible.
Speaking of that I have been spending what little time I have been on the computer looking up airfare for the MegaCon trip. My mom and I are going to stay with Cree.
Who else is going to MegaCon?
Also, LOTS of family drama…… I won’t go into it unless someone wants me to.

This is a bit after the fact, but YOU WILL find something you like. You are only 22. I’m 28 and STILL don’t know if I’m doing the right thing. I truly hope the CBS interview went well today. Also you never know who you might see come through there. I work in the building that houses our local FOX network. So far, I’ve seen Jim Belushi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tommy Davidson and Jennifer Hudson, and I’ve been right down the hall from Josh Hutcherson and Lou Diamond Philips. Like I said you never know.
I spoke to both Dizey and Cree on Sunday. Both are doing alright and both wanted me to tell you hi. Cree’s computer is DEAD. Dizey’s didn’t sound much better.

The interview went okay. As i emailed a bunch of you already, i’m not sure if will get it or not. They’re willing to train me and i’m more than willing to learn. Problem is that it’s only 8/hr and part-time to start and i can’t just BARELY make ONE of my loan payments on that *IF* i work 35 hrs/wk (which qualifies me for bennies). But i’ll have to get a second job. I’d be working from 4-11:15 pm. So, getting a job in the morning shouldn’t be that hard. If it goes full-time then i’d have to be there at 2:45-11:15. *shrugs* I’ve worked odder hours…

Hey Madonna. You tell that jackass to mind his own f*ing business. He sounds alot like my sister Kim.
You know I am surprised how great I feel right now.
And I have some not so nice news about my sister and the baby. It is nothing horrible but it is not nice. My sister was in the ER yesterday because she was in alot of pain that she shouldn’t have been in from the labor or having her tubes tied. They were checking her appendix, she had a catscan, etc. Well she still has the infection that she had when she had the baby. I guess they gave her the antibiotic when she was in labor but didn’t give her any to go home with. Ummmm HELLO a few hours of antibiotic is not going to make the infection go away. Now the babies mouth is very small I guess and has a hard time latching on to her breast. It is very painful for Chris. Yesterday Aiden spit up and it was all bloody. Chris pumped a little and it came out with blood in it. I don’t know what is going to happen now but they are all home. Chris might need to just pump until the blood from the infection goes away. I hope she has enough milk stored up.

You don’t think of Ohio getting earthquakes, but I guess there is a faultline that runs right under Lake Erie not too far from here so we get a mild one every couple years or so. An earthquake! I went to college in Evansville, IN and my university is built directly over an active faultline. I experienced two minor earthquakes when I was in college. Very weird being in the midwest and having an earthquake. I did my graduate work at Bowling Green State University are you anywhere near there?

Danae – I am sorry to hear about your sister’s difficulties. I had a problem when I tried to breast feed my youngest and developed Mastitis (I think I spelled that wrong). anyway, I ended up having to quit feeding her and put her on a bottle. I must have done something right along the way though, because Krysten is 5’10” and smart as they come 🙂

I was trying to decide which BT episode I wanted to rewatch for the gazillionth time last night and suddenly realized the 5:55 is no longer on my DVR – WTF!!!! Somehow or another it has been deleted from the line up! The funny thing is – it didn’t matter how many times I went through the line up it still didn’t show up! What is up with that! Good thing, ms Laurel, has put it on my ipod for me. At least I can see it there.

Oh breast feeding is definitely hard work. Even knowing that, the one reason that would have kept me from having my breast reduction was the fact that I can’t breast feed now. My mom said to me that she never breast fed any of us and we turned out alright. I laughed at that. Plus I was really sick and tiny up until I was three and who knows if my mom had breast fed me I might have been fine.

Y’all may have already seen this. I think it is just hysterical. This is the way to make cookies!
Tequila New Year Eve Cookies
1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup of nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle of Tequila
Sample the Tequila in a large glass to check quality.
Take a large bowl, and check the Tequila again, to be sure it is of the
Highest quality. Pour one level cup and drink.
Turn on the electric mixer, Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again.
At this point, it’s best to make sure the tequila is still ok, so try
another cup.
Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Pick the frigging fruit and damm cup off the floor.
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, just
pry it loose with a drewscriver.
Sample the tequila to check for tonsisticity.
Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Check the Tequila
Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table.
Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.
Greash the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.
Don’t forget to beat off the turner
Put the bowl through the window, finish off the booze and make sure to
put the dirty stove in the dishwasher.
I always forget to put the dirty stove in the dishwasher!

My cousin has a three year old and a one year old. The hospital where her children were born is a hospital that promotes breast feeding. She physically could not breast feed. With the first child they wouldn’t leave until she had tried it about three times, and each time was more painful than the next. They finally conceded that she could not medically do it.
Well, with Ava, her one year old, she told the doctors about the previous experience. They told her they would not let her leave the hospital with the baby until she had tried to breast feed at least three times. It made me angry when I learned that. Although, I know that breast feeding is important to do, if you can not physically do it, then they have no right to keep her there.
She wasn’t very happy about it either…my cousin has quite the temper…I can’t imagine the earful she gave the doctors and nurses.

When I have kids if they make me breast-feed I will be very pissed. I cannot physically do it. When I had my breast reduction the nipples were fully removed and put aside. I hardly have any feeling in them. I don’t think that is right. They should not make someone breast feed. They have no right to say that. It should be up to each mother. And saying she can’t leave until she has tried three times. F them! It will not hurt anyone medically. That is just plain ridiculous.

Please let us know if anyone else gets that response. I am currently waiting for lt to respond to the last comment I sent. They have answered all but the one I sent just before the holidays and I have been expecting the same canned response. If I get that new line too you’ll probably hear me yelling, even though I’m on the other side of the country.
Danae – My second daughter was a preemie and I had to express milk and take it to the NICU for them to feed her through a tube. I too had some instance of blood in the milk, but it cleared up after a couple of days and they gave her formula mixed with a little of the milk I had already stored. If she really wants to breast-feed tell her not to give up, but if she would like to bottle feed instead it doesn’t mean she’s failed at anything. She is doing her best for the baby, and it is okay if that is what is best for her as well.

Also, my mom grew up very poor on a farm. There was kind of a stigma attached to breast feeding. It meant you could not afford to buy the bottles.

And they really shouldn’t push a woman that just had a baby. They are quite unstable at that point. You never know if they will have post partum and how severe it will be. My sister already unstable with bi-polar and manic depression, we were really worried about her having really bad post partum. Thankfully she is fine in that department.

Yeah, I’m still really mad at my co-worker. He’s just so IMMATURE! He does not stop to think about anything he says at all. Because of his attitude another one of my co-workers completely ignores him. Literally acts like he is invisible. Then the two of them try to put me in the middle of it. It’s driving me nuts. As if the work stress and hours weren’t enough I’m surrounded by babies too.
I think it’s a good idea to sic prtfvr on him. And my dog….. and Henry.
As far as my health goes…. I’m a bit worried that it is almost insulin time for me. I’ve been on this particular diabetes cocktail now for about 2 years and its effectiveness is already starting to fade.

Sometimes I really dislike the corporate world and the games people play. I was asked to schedule a meeting with my boss and the financial guy to talk about headcount issues in my department. Both men accepted the meeting and guess what….I was the only one that showed up! It really pisses me off! So, I went looking for them. You should have seen there faces when I popped into their offices! The upshot is..I have to reschedule for Friday, but I got a lot of apologies – sheesh!

I don’t know if i was breast fed or not. I know my elder younger brother weren’t because Greg is lactose intolerant. Jonathan…well…no clue. I do know that milk from mothers is prefered because of the medical benifits of it. I remember my step-mom talking about it, nothing particular but i remember her saying something about it ’cause my little sister just decided one day that she wasn’t gonna eat that way anymore. Heaven help me, i don’t remember what exactly she said though. Forcing someone to do it twice when you they weren’t able to the first time- that’s just cruel.
Thanks for the luck guys. I applied for a legal secretary position today and they want me to come in for “testing” (grammer & typing) tomorrow at four. So…we’ll see. ^_^ That was one of 9 applications I filled out and submitted today. We’ll see if anything comes of it.

I found the link when I was on HeyNeilsen congratulating the Moonlight fans on their recent win since we’ve been getting credit for going over there and causing trouble. Good morning!
I have been chatting up the office. I love January. This is a speical month at Converse College. We do what is called January term where students can use the month of January to take one class, travel abroad, or do internships. Then the spring semester starts Feb. 5. Since so many of my students study abroad, I don’t have to have meetings and the work day is much calmer. I get to actually talk to my colleagues and find out about their lives vs. running ragged.

I am here Deb. I won’t be here much longer I think. My throat is killing me, I am freezing, I have a headache, and I am achy not to mention I feel completely drained of energy.
When I went to bed last night my room was like a sauna so I turned my ceiling fan on. When I woke up this morning the room was freezing. It is great to have my landlord pay all the utilities but I don’t get to control the temp in my apartment. They do. I think that is why I don’t feel good.

Thanks for your good wishes yesterday, and yes, I had a great day. After I left the license bureau I stopped at Half Price Books and picked up a couple of books on drawing Manga and Super Hero Comics for a project I’m working on.
Then I spent the afternoon drawing, actually hand drawing. I do so much digital work I thought I’d forgotten how, but it’s guess it’s like riding a bike Once you learn how to do it you may be a little rusty but it doesn’t take too long to get back into it. Here’s what I did:

I don’t get to do too much hand illustration on my day job. I mostly do typesetting and digital design in Photoshop. Sometimes I get to design or recreate logos a Adobe Illustrator. Mostly I give technical support to people who think they are graphic artists but if fact are not. How that for an elitist attitude? LOL
I actually got to work on a couple of fun projects last year though. 2 years in a row did an illustration project for one of our customers who puts on a big annual arts and crafts fair. The header on this page actually uses my hand drawn artwork from last year. I guess they’ve taken down the one from the year before.

I’m going to be out for a couple of days after today. I’m traveling tonight, back Sunday evening.
My oldest has been invited to a High School Honor Band in the Seattle area. This is her fourth year of attending it and she is really looking forward to catching up with some friends she’s made in years past. It will be some amazing music and we will hear two hundred kids perform – in two different groups – after only two days of practicing together. They do a near professional level of performance, which is astounding under the circumstances.

You should be a proud mom! I was in color guard, and hung out with a lot of students in the band. I know how much they practice and how long it can take to get a group in sync…so two days is amazing!

I’m all for the book discussion idea! I have never actually gotten in on the discussion part of a book club (even though I have read in anticipation of such an event).
I would recommend one of the Owens books for those who like Sci-Fi/Fantasy. You can read excerpts of her work at www. robindowen . com (I split it up so I won’t get thrown in the chum bucket. Just take out the spaces to make it work).

I wonder if we want to ask for suggestions for the first month and narrow it to a list of two or three. I’m not into anything too deep or mind bending at this point. I’d prefer something that was fun or mysterious over something that is life-changing.

Just checking in to make sure I’m still alive. (I sometimes wonder, when I get too tired.) A friend of mine saw the Vancouver (WA) tornado, but it wasn’t close enough to scare her. And luckily no one was hurt. We rarely get tornadoes here in the northwet, so it was major headline news out here.
Not only was my boss on vacation today, but HIS boss was out sick and the designated third choice person was out sick. Leaving me in charge. And my tagline for such situations is always “And I don’t care.” It was pretty funny and we got a lot of work done today (kudos to me, I suspect) but it was frustrating.
I SO wish I were going to Megacon. I trust those who are going will promise to have a good time for those of us left behind, please?

I had some weird dreams last night. In one of them my teeth fell out. Does anyone decipher dreams? What does it mean when your teeth fall out in a dream? That I need to go to the dentist (which I have a fear of by the way)?
I also dreamt that I had magical powers, then they were taken away by something (can’t remembe what) and some old lady (who looked suspiciously like Angela Lansbury) came and used her powers to get them back…or something like that…it is all very vague.

DebS- the teeth thing usually means that you have false friends. (It’s one of the things that I have in my dreams on a semi-regular basis). The magic thing boils down to: by performing magic you might be overestimating your powers at getting something. But you’re aware of this fact and are afraid of failing entirely (losing the powers). Nevertheless, you want someone older and wiser to come along and help you and consequently a surprising event will take place (The other person using magic to get yours back).
Now, all dream interpretations are subject to … well interpretations. The best ones come from dictionaries created by the person. When you sit down and figure out just what each notable piece of the dream objectively means to you. I mean, you telling me what magic means to you would lead to a better interpretation than me getting it out of a book and trying to put it along with everything else in the dream you mentioned. ^_^ (I did a project on this kind of thing my Senior Year of HS.)

I sometimes feel like we are only friends because we have been friends for so long. I am closer to all of you than I am her. I feel like my friendship with you all is way more authentic than my friendship with her. I have nothing in common with her at all anymore, and she whines a lot which is annoying. Anyway, so how crazy that I would have been getting all that off my chest at therapy and then dream about teeth falling out that night. Crazy!!!!

I really, really hate Karma some days! Remember the other day when I was griping about setting up a meeting and the two men involved blew it off? I went to their offices and had the pleasure of seeing them squirm. Guess what…I forgot the meeting with them today and my boss showed up in my office to remind me! Grrrrrr. I just wanted to thank all of you for your positive energy and prayers for Uncle Walt..recieved a call from his wife – he’s doing well, everything went well withthe surgery – as of yet (knock on wood) they don’t see any complications and he’l be going home next week.
One less worry.
so I have 15 minutes left until I can go home and I don’t feel like doing anything…..the PMS demon showed up with a vengence and now I really feel like garbage – sigh – I’m going to see if I can puppy dog pout my way into a ride home. 😉

I dream that I travel ALL THE TIME! Sometimes it’s a dark and winding road, sometimes I can see the end but it’s so far away I get depressed at how long it’ll take me to get there.
Every trip I stay at some nice hotel and never want to leave. Lots of times I’m flying to a secluded beach in another country that has cool underwater life and I just love it there and try to think of ways to stay.
Sometimes the hotel has a glass balcony and I sit in a SUPER comfortable chair and watch everyone come and go. Many times I go out to eat with my friends and am having such a good time that I hate to go.
Oh, and dream about my step-father about four times a week. I dream that I find him in time to save him and then I have to explain why I spent his money and make it right. I’m glad that he’s alive but I feel such guilt for paying off my bills.
Man, I’m a nut, right? No subtle dreams for me! There’s barely any symbolism, it just kind of bashes you right over the head with meaning.

Okay, i have something to propose to people (most of you probably got this in your emails but for everyone else) and it’s gonna be broken up into two or three posts so…
PART 1
Okay, here’s the deal ladies. I am part of a community on livejournal
called Dark Wisconsin. It’s a roleplaying/writing thing that a friend
of mine and I started the middle of last year. Every character on
there is controled by someone (sometimes one person has multiple
characters) and we just write our characters. It’s like a soup opera
but damn funny. We want more people involved (so far we have 4.5
people and 7 characters for an ENTIRE town) because we can’t do it
all. We need more people, more shops, more drama.

PART 2
Here’s the character list as it stands (make sure you read the user
info/profile of each of these characters as you learn lots of info
about them):
Duff Shores (misshores)- Teacher at Dark High School. Orphan and co-
legal gaurdian of younger brother William Shores who lives with her.
Adeala Shores (dealsinsecrets) – Middle Shores child. She has a column
in the paper that no one knows about (that she’s the writer not that
it exists) and has an inferiority complex where her sister is
concerned. She’s dating and totally loyal to Jamie (a male thank you
very much) but will, and does, flirt with others.
William Shores (willofdark) – the youngest of the Shores clan who is
still in HS. He’s very quite, doesn’t say much … EVER! and is the
love interest of Bronwyn.
Dmytro Sabin (anddmytrolasts)- Vampire that is in love…well intrigue
in any case… with Duff Shores. He has a past, is trying to hide from
it and it might not really be working too well.
Jade (jadedeyesofblue) – She’s a vamp as well and Jamie’s drop dead
(almost literally) gorgeous ex. She’s very sure of herself, very
sexual and wants jamie back. Hates Duff and may or may not have a
history with Dmytro. The same applies to the multitude of dead bodies
that keep showing up and getting Jamie into trouble.
Jamie (mebejay)- He owns his own tow truck company and that’s okay
with him. He at one time aspired to be a police officer and that left
him with a VERY bad relationship with Dark’s Finest and all the dead
bodies in the cars he keeps finding isn’t helping too much either. He
had a psuedo relationship with Duff that he knows bothers Adeala and
despises his ex, Jade. While he loves Adeala, his eyes will follow a
gorgeous redhead at times.
Bronwyn (mistyirisheyes)- a student of Duff’s she works at Brew Tea
and the Beanst. She just recently moved out on her own and is trying
to get into college for journalism which makes Adeala and her chummy,
athough Jamie and Bronwyn don’t always get along. She’s head of heals
for Will but he barely notices his own life let alone the ones of
people around him.
So, that’s the crew so far. We also have bit parts of Lt. Ass and Sgt.
Hole. They’re the two police officers that keep hauling Jamie in
everytime he finds another dead body in a car. There is also Dominick
Renolds which is just a young man Jade used as food one night.
Stores- Brew Tea & The Beanst (coffee shop) and Sweet Dreams & Sex
Shoppe (sells bedroom supplies- sheets, pillows, pajamas, lingerie-
and sex supplies).

Right now I’m locked up between chapter 11, chaper 12 and chapter 25….so I don’t want to go back to 1 right now….but I do appreciate all you have done for me!

My review is next month – I spent part of the morning writing up my self evaluation.
I hate those….I swear i type the same thing almost every year….I’m hoping that my office manger has passed some of the “at a boys” shes given me on t my supervisor (since he is only in this office once a month – if that and has no idea what I’m doing) One of these days I’m just going to type on there “I’m a wonderful person and everybody loves me!” and see what they say! 😉

I saw the link on the forum for scheduling the photographs. Thanks for that. Are photographs scheduled for specific times? I haven’t booked them yet, but it looked as though you only scheduled the day.
Also, autographs…are you supposed to buy something at the convention or do they have photographs on hand that are signed.
Do you know if and/or when a Blood Ties panel discussion is scheduled? I can’t find anything on the website that indicates that.

I have been known to plead, and prod, and beg for more chapters.. but have I threatened to send Guido to intimidate her?? NO!.
I have threatened to take her reading books away though, until she gets HER story done. It is for her own good.. we don’t need other authors characters influencing Garrett and K’s story.
Really! It is all for her own good. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Speaking of writing, I just had to laugh, I gave my book link to one of my customers about a month ago and she never got around to reading it , so I figured she wasn’t interested. This morning I get a phone call, “OMG girl I just printed it out and I can’t stop reading. I’m up to Chapter 6 and I’m going to get fired for reading at work. but I can’t help it I’m going to print more. I’ll call you back!”

Sorry about my absence as of late. The slightest little thing I try to do just wears me out! I’ve caught myself drifting off while still typing here at work the past couple of weeks. Also, lots of family drama. Seems as though everyone around me is fighting about something. Other than that I’m doing well.

Work was so boring today I found myself with my little notebook in hand writing writing writing, and suddenly I hear the dj on the radio (do they still call them dj’s) anyway announcing the time – I had spent the last 40 minutes of work writing! OMG! If I hadn’t heard that annoucment I would have kept right on ging and missed my train! Don’t worry I will be more careful now – but I had nothing to work on so at least I was doing something constructive…

For all of you who knew I was off traveling…. I’m Baaaaaak!
Seattle was rainy (of course) on Friday and Saturday, but really lovely and sunny on Sunday. It was still a little chilly, but we went down to the Pike Place Public Market – (a landmark), and then down to the water-front for smoked fish and chips. Yummmm!
My daughter made it into the top Honor Band on Friday and the performance on Sat night was fabulous! They played some wicked awesome music. It was hard to believe that most of the students had never met before Friday, and the director for the top group was the head of the music department. at U of S. Carolina. Wow1

So, it’s 5:20 and I have yet to go to bed. I found myself in a creative GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE and from 11:45/12:00 till 4:30 I was working on one of my stories in progress. Now, i’m wide awake (well, slowly falling away from that state…VERY slowly!). Which sucks ’cause I have this thing where I can’t sleep past 9:30 (unless it’s a weekend…then 10 at the absolute latest!) otherwise i beat myself up all day for wasting my day. So…i put in NCIS in the hopes that Gibbs’ sarcasm and Dinozzo’s “charismatic” quips will drift me off to sleep…so that I can get up at 9:30. I bet i’m gonna be a tiny bit crabby tomorrow…
Oh, and i’ve (yet again) applied for every job i’m interested in posted on the ‘net. Tomorrow i’m running around town picking up various applications and dropping off apps to B&N, Starbucks & The Oddessy (a resturant). Okay…my spelling SUCKS! I’m gonna go back to the laying down and staring at the computer screen that I was doing before i got too bored…

We are on a two-hour delay for school today due to icy road conditions. Good thing they did that, I barely made it back to the house when trying to retrieve the newspaper from the bottom of the driveway. It doesn’t have much of a slope but enough to make it a challenge in my slippers. Wish I’d have known before I got out of bed and had coffee. 😦

I am soooooooo sorry I disappeared for a few days. Whatever I had kicked my ass. I am still not quite right but I really can’t take anymore time off from work. Taking two days in a row is really bad for me. Nobody does my work while I am gone and the day I come back they present me with all sorts of problems. I never even get a chance to breath. You would think they would give me break because I am NEVER out sick. Thanks for worrying over me! 🙂

Hey Ms. laurel – glad you made it back from Seattle okay. It sounds like you guys had a good time. Congrats to your daughter. It takes a lot of talent and dedication to accomplish what she has! Driving in to work this morning was a bit of a challenge, but for once everyone seemed to be driving slowly and leaving plenty of room in between cars! I was starting to think I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone because my experience with Oregon drivers has mostly been – no matter what the road conditions…drive like it is dry pavement. Insane!

I’m not feeling so hot. Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of my grandfather’s death. I really don’t feel like doing anything. For one thing, how could a year have gone by in the blink of an eye and he wasn’t here to experience all the joys and hardships? And a baby was just born. I just don’t understand how life can just go on when he isn’t here. Oh and he loved the babies. He loved on them all the time. I found all you lovely wonderful ladies and am happy and now I feel guilty about it. I wonder if I am the only one of my family that feels this way. I wish I courage the to ask but I don’t want to feel like a doofus.

I just wanted to stop in and say hi before my day turns into full-blown chaos.
I just saw a very sad news item. Brad Renfro, a young actor, just 25 years old was found dead in his home. Cause of death was not known, but he had problems with drugs and alcohol. He starred as the young boy opposite Susan Sarandon in The Client.
It made me think of Kyle and how he seems so centered and balanced. I think he has strong support from his family and friends and that keeps him grounded. His only” addiction” seems to be to extreme sports. Still dangerous, but you can’t live in a bubble.

I did here that this morning Linda. They were talking about it on the radio this morning and comparing it to River Phoenix’s death. I believe Brad Renfro also was in Tom and Huck with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Yes extreme sports are dangerous but not as bad as drugs and such. I heard he was trying to turn his life around.

Danae, my grandfather has been gone almost 10 years now, and I still miss him. Interesting that I still miss him most when the family is laughing together. I can almost hear him. Sometimes that makes me sad but mostly it makes me feel close to him. I am so glad that he comes to me in laughter.
Okay, now I’ve made myself cry. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and I want you to know that you aren’t alone in your sorrow.

I also watched American Idol. The auditions are my favorite part too. Some people will embarrass themselves to no ends just to be on TV. Like that guy who waxed his chest hair.

While I was at the grocery store the other day I saw a name on the back of an SUV and I wanted to share it with you. Kylan. I thought it was great because that’s a mix of Kyle and Dylan. I suppose it could be unisex but I think it sounds feminine.
