I hope we all have safe and happy New Year celebrations this week, and that all our New Year wishes come true. I’m betting I know what at least one of them is!
I’ve started a community on LiveJournal for the Blood Ties macros or, as I have recently decided to call them, Bat Macros. I haven’t spiffed it up yet, but if you all would spread the word and post your macros I think it could be great! I’m already a member of the one for Doctor Who and the one for Robin Hood. I think we could be just as funny. And just as popular. You can join it here, provided you already have a LiveJournal account. (If you don’t, it’s easy enough to get one, and even the free ones are full of neat things to do. I made the community a Plus account which means there are ads but they’re not obtrusive and there’s more options available.)
Speaking of Bat Macros, I think I’ve used this one before. But it’s still funny.

This is good t.v.? but Blood Ties isn’t? as my potty mouthed son would say”F*&k lifetime…the only way I would stoop to watching them ever again would be A..Blood Ties new episodes, B..A movie with Kyle in it.
Thanks for the compliments about my pics! Christopher is good..the doctors appt this past Monday went well.The antibiotics worked and all swelling is gone.They did blood work and everything turned out ok. Just some weird infection.

DebS, I watched Series One of Torchwood online and I’m sure Series Two will be just as surreptitiously uploaded, although it’s starting in the US so soon after it starts in the UK that I’m not sure it’ll be as easy to find it online. I can’t wait until the US DVDs come out. (I’m not as Captain Jack orientated, but I can admire him anyway, plus he obviously makes my man Ianto happy…) (I love Ianto as much for his name as for his adorableness. Yes, he’s young and not obviously my type but of all the folks in Torchwood he’s the one most likely to bring me breakfast in bed and that goes a long way with me!) (Okay, Gwen probably would, too, but she’s just not as domesticated as Ianto is…)

well isn’t that a kick in the teeth – you know I complained about the letter I was sent saying “you are eligible for $0.00” incentive bonus”…well get this. I understood the letter to further state that if you didn’t get the incentive bonus you still got the one days pay…WRONG! appernetly if you got ANY incentive bonuses during the year – which I did mid year – you get nothing at the end of the year…they are doing away with bonuses for anyone other thatn unppe management……
I just stired the pot and told my office manger how crappy I thought that was – they should have sent a letter explaining this better to those who were not elegible for anything – sheesh.
OK back to work – although our system is still down and I really can’t do anything……

I have made hemp jewelry in the past and got bored of doing them so I started making illusion necklaces and bracelets. I will take some pictures of them and post them. I am hoping to sell them at craft fairs and such.

Hey Annalaise. Illusion jewelry is when use a string that is clear. Often times I can go to the fish store and get cheap fishing line and lots of it. I usually do three set of beads one in the center and two on each side. You space them so that it looks like they are suspended on nothing hence the illusion.

Ok so I don’t mind it when someone comes to my desk to go through my papers. I often have orders or something that they need. What I hate is when they don’t put them back where I had them and the way I had them. Did you find them upside down and turned around? NOOOOOOOO! Why is it so hard to put it back the way you found it? Come on people! Would you like it if someone came to your desk and did that? I don’t think you would. GRRRRRRR! And while we are on the subject of papers on desks why am I being told that my desk is so messy and unorganized when other people around here are exclaiming over my boss’s desk being empty of lots and lots of paper. I swear you could hardly see his desk.

I know we have a lot of readers in our group, including me. I’ve included a newsletter from one of my local bookstores. Maybe you’ll find a new author. I know that I’m always on the lookout for new authors because my favorite authors don’t write nearly fast enough to satisfy my cravings.
Although I’m not a big fan of cozy-type mysteries (there are some that I like), I know that some of you are. The newsletter mentions a new author from Canada, Kate Jacobs, and her first book, “The Friday Night Knitting Club”.
However, one of my favorite fantasy authors is Patricia Briggs. I’m impatiently waiting for the library to get her third book in the series about Mercedes “Mercy” Thompson (January 2008). If you like werewolves, shape-shifters, vampires, etc., then I recommend that series. “Shape-shifter Mercy Thompson has a complex life, juggling two werewolf lovers and a job working for a fae mechanic.” She has written other series, but I haven’t read them yet.
There are some other books listed that aren’t my cup of tea, but you might like them.

well its lunch time and they STILL don’t have the system up…..thi has really been a drag of a day.
I’ve finished all my “busy” work so now I have no idea how I’m going to spend the rest of the afternoon if they don’t get on the ball….I’d write – but I might get caught 😦

Robin said there is a local non-profit organization around her that she works with that is made up of women just entering the buisness of setting up websites. They will do most of the work for free (you just have to pay the registration and hosting fees). they are trying to build their book of references.
Anyway I’m going to see if Robin can arrange a meeting with someone from this group and see what they think….I’ll get back to you.
I think this would be a really good thing to consider doing – so I think at somepoint I’ll “schedule” a chat with any interested parties…just send me an email if you think that this is something you would consider pursuing – no wait…I’ll send an email out and then you can respond e to that – that way it will have the same subject line….

Thanks Danae. I’m pretty nervous about leaving town when I feel like this, but I’m missing my family and this is the only chance I’ll have to see them for a couple of months.
The pain has backed off a little thanks to strong meds, but I’m almost out of meds and this is not a good time to try to get a re-fill on a narcotic. My personal physician is out of town with his family and the rest of his partners don’t know me well enough to be comfortable with giving me anything that strong without having my chart in hand.
Oh, well. I do understand. There are so many people that call my Hubby in the middle of the night seeking narcotic prescriptions and I know how hard it is on him to wonder if they really need help or if they’re just abusing the system.

this may take a while to set up – so i would suggest trying a few other avenues out in the mean time.
If things go the way I think – I down to three craftshows for the year – and Ihave to find a way to get rid of some stuff – and ebays just not doing it.
I thought the co-op idea was good becasue we would be sharing any costs across the board and we can custimize the site to our needs – we have jewelers, quilters, artist and who knows what else.

Don’t know if this is official or anything or whether it is good news or bad news for us but Lifetime’s homepage has story abot the best and worst in entertainment in 2007. Anyway…… They’re reporting that Moonlight has been cancelled. I don’t watch it so I don’t care all that much, but it’s the first I’ve heard of it.

A post on Bloodlines reminded me that this site has some wonderful promotional pictures! These are professionally done, so they don’t get blurry when you enlarge them. Yippee! Also, they’re in Flash, so you can’t just right-click and save.
To save, hold the keyboard key that has the pic of Microsoft’s flying window while you press the “print screen” key. Then paste into some picture editing software that has a “crop” feature. Crop the picture and save.
Use this method, too, on those yummy promotional pictures in the Bloodtiestv.com gallary. Enjoy!

well I made it home!
around 2 the office manager said I could leave since the system still wasn’t up – but I had one of “those feelings” that I should stay – so I said I would wait and see if the system came up in the next half hour..anyway, it didn’t so I went to talk to the office manager and see what she wanted to do – she told me to leave, but I still had that feeling – good thing I stay…just as I was leaving her office the phone rang – the client was yelling that he never recieved his binding order so had no proof he had insurance – I went straight to my desk pulle dup the FedEx email saying it was delivered and forwarded it to the office manager – ha! had been delivered to the receptionist and 9am this morning :P…then he starts yeolling that this really important document never showed up and with out it he would have to pull all his trucks off the road tonight – we didn’t process this document – the insurance carrier did – so we called them…you know they could could us the tracking number and tell us it was delivered, but no one could tell us the address it was sent to. I just rolled my eyes took the paper with the tracking number on it and called FedEx – duh – the girl was so nice…I said ok I’m not the sender and I’m not the recipient we had something sent froma secondary office could you please tell me where they sent the document? oh no problem – boom had the address and the name of the person who signed for it! now why couldn’t the sender do that?
Any way by then it was 3:15 and the office manager said to leave before something else happened – you know this may be spitefull but the whole way back to my desk I’m think – yeah I save your bacon – you got a bonus and I got bupkis!…grrrrr
Anyway I was sitting waiting for the train and started jotting down some notes for chapter 21 – I think I wrote two pages! I’m not sure becasue the little notebook is only a 2 x flip book – so now I’m off to get them typed up.
When are we meeing at the hen house? I want to take a nap so I can stay up?

my dear Claire – my sister has been fighting depression all year..shes even lost like 60 pounds becasue she doesn’t eat – the meds helped some – once they found the right combination – but once I talked her into finding a support person she has started to do better – she’s also changed her diet and is suposed to get out of the house for at least an hour a day – even if its just to walk the dogs, she said that has helped with the constant aches shes been feeling….
That lonley feeling is the worst….So just remember we are here for you and I think quite a few of us have been through some form of depression – I know I have – and know where your coming from bella…so never fear you are never going to be alone.

Claire: Being depressed and lonely is kind of like a circle. You could have both and one could be making the other worse. I found I get more depressed this time of the year and I even get a bit lonely. The depression comes from an ex who exited from this world at my house. But keep in mind, hopefully this might make you feel better, shrinks have the highest suicide rate this time of year so they don’t have all the answers either. I decided I could afford being crazy so I went to the bookstore after they told me how many visits I’d need at how much per visit. I’m fine now, Moooohaaaaa. lol.

Madonna, no official word yet. They told me I would know for sure by the end of the year. Well, it doesn’t get any more end of the year than this. I have a feeling I will know by next week or so. There is a year end bonus for all COS doctors and I think they are holding off on telling me so they don’t have to pay out that bonus to me this year. It really sucks, but there really is nothing I can do about it other than wait. If I don’t hear anything by the end of this week, I am going to email then again about it. I emailed them a few weeks ago wanting an update and they said all their computers had been down and all COS candidates applications were put on hold until the problem was fixed. I have a hard time believing it takes that long to fix a computer! I’ll keep y’all informed though.

We made it back from skiing…more like mudding..LOL..no snow…except what they could make at night…Sooo Willow got to go tubing..and she liked it.
Anyway came back and went to a new years party at the bass players house. (Miss Brandi’s house) for those of you who met her.. We had a good time..the kids all went to bed around 11 and the adults all tired out at 12:30am…I cant even hang with Dick Clark anymore!! LOL>…

I went to see a movie today called Sleuth with Michael Caine and Jude Law. I kept imagining Kyle in the Jude Law role. A part like that would give him a chance to really chew some scenery.

Quiet day around here. . . I just voted several times at Save my show, and I noticed that there are 6 votes from people who want to see it cancelled. Why on earth would one go to the trouble of voting to cancel a show?!? If I don’t like a show, I simply don’t watch it. I would not want to spoil things for viewers who do like the show. Had to rant for a minute…
Looking at the voting for save my show made me think of this… I read something a month or two ago on E Online regarding Side Order of Life. Someone asked Kristen (Watch with Kristen) in a chat if it would be renewed. (Just as an aside, I have emailed Kristen two or three times about Blood Ties and got no response.) I am back for my first official work day of the new year. Apparently, this isn’t a “real” work day. The college is still closed so we could choose to not come in. All very confusing. I’m sorry Rif, Leonard Nimoy just cannot be replaced as Mr. Spock. He IS Spock. Just as Bill Shatner Is Captain Kirk and Deforest Kelley is Dr. McCoy. If they wanted to continue the series they should just write new characters as the did in Next Generation and Voyager. I for one will never buy into new actors playing the roles.

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and Day. Mine was pretty calm. Cree can attest to that. She and I were talking on the phone.
Well girls, ALL I want to do for the past two or three weeks is sleep. I can’t get enough of it. I don’t want to watch TV or read or even blog so much as I usually do. I just want to sleep.
Speaking of TV….. My mom and I finally saw the last two episodes of BT on Sunday. I didn’t cry or anything but the SIMPLY CAN NOT leave us like that.
The weather people around here were calling for flurries overnight. Well we all woke up to about 1 1/2 – 3 inches of flurries this morning. Boy were they off. And its only 12 degrees here.

Today has been a horrible/exhausting day!! I was bringing in a cup of dog food from the garage that I had scooped out of the big bag of dry dog food that I have sitting out there and when I dumped it in the bowl, I dumped a FREAKIN MOUSE out too!!!! OMG!!!! I was screaming my head off and jumping around. What did my dogs and one cat do? Watched with absolutely NO interest. It ran right into my son’s room. I shut the door and stuffed towels under the door. I’m on a monthly Orkin service plan right now, so I called them and hysterically said, “There’s a mouse in my house!!!!” It took the service person 5 hours to get out to my house. I literally sat on my kitchen bench for 5 hours and watched the door to make sure that little shit didn’t come out!!! Well, when the Orkin GAL got there, she didn’t see the mouse in Corey’s room, of course. She put down a bunch of glue traps and did my monthly spraying. I had a glue trap my mom brought over…I threw a huge glob of peanut butter in the middle of it and set it right in the middle of Corey’s room, closed the door, put the towels back and left to work out. My nerves were shot!!! Well, we came back an hour or so later, and guess which glue trap caught the little bastard???? MINE!!! So I ran next door to meet my new neighbor and asked him to come get the live mouse out of the room. His wife totally understood!!! So, I accomplished nothing on the last day of vacation, will probably never get the dogs food again, and I’m exhausted!! What a way to begin the year!!!

Oh Danae, I feel soooooo Old!!!!! I used to watch and love ol’ Trampis on Wagon Train when I was a little kid. He was right up there w/ Little Joe on Bonanza and I had to beg to get to stay up to watch him. (Can’t say Ive seen any western stuff since~ah but I sure had puppy love for those guys)

So, had an interview today (it was one of those ‘get a call at 10am and be in their office by 1’ kind of things). Definitely interesting. It was for Davis Direct Marketing. They’re the kind of marketing firm that does the Toys For Tots stands every year. They want to fast track some people to management positions (we’re talking 6-9 months). I was “called back” for round 2 of interviews on friday. Bad part- it’s an ALL DAY thing. I have to go to an event and help out, see how things run, ask questions, etc. Which isn’t the bad part (just the ALL DAY part) since i’ve done things like that before. The job is “Performance Based.” The more you work the more you get paid. And it’s a weekly paycheck (which i LOVE). THe lady (becky) told me that they usually get paid between $400 & $700 a week with 90% between 500 & 600 a week. I can deal with that. it’s about how much I got at Novum and i do work REALLY hard most of the time.
I have two tomorrow. One at 10:30 (Banker’s Life and Casualty) which is more of an informational session than an interview i believe. And then one at 3pm (Farmer’s Insurance Group). *sigh* We’ll see how it goes…
Susana- I found the PERFECT green top that shows some skin w/o showing everything. ^_^ I plan on utilizing it tomorrow. 🙂

Chelli – eewwwww! thankfully i don’t have mice – but mom had a problem a couple years agao and used those glue traps…she caught a mouse but wouldn’t take him off the trap or even pick the trap up (Duh) so she tipped a 5 gallon bucket over it so it she wouldn’thave to see it until dad came home….well don’t ask me how but the sucker got two legs free and when daad took the bucket off it made a break for it taking the trap along! unfourtunatly his freedomm was short lived – the sucker fell down the sump pump pitt! i didn’t even ask how they got it out….

I think I know why… if you are curious about the voting totals, you have to vote to see them. So someone who was just looking to see what the numbers were, might vote “don’t care” or even “don’t renew”. I realized this when i was looking at some other shows, to see how many votes they were getting.
I looked at a couple other TAN shows (AW and SOL) and found that Blood Ties is getting all the votes! I was nice and voted “don’t care”.

sigh….our old intern came by for a visit…sigh…he is so cute (inside and out) he gave me hug. such a sweety! and only 23….sigh… He’s now in or management training program and his next rotation will have him working with someone out of our office – so I hope he comes back to visit more often…….
well need to get back to work…but now I have the giggles – he shaved his head, and YES a rubbed his hair – or lack there of! fuzzy like a peach!

I emailed City TV Vancouver because after this coming Sunday’s episode (We’ll Meet Again) I didn’t see BT on the schedule. Apparently it’s being moved to a new timeslot for the season finale (8pm Wednesday, Jan. 9th).
Those of you that watch City TV in any of its other cities (Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg) may want to check your schedules or send an email to double check any timeslot changes.
I also asked if they had heard anything about a second season, and they said they hadn’t heard anything one way or the other.

I can actually walk normally for longer periods of time, but every once in awhile I get a sharp pain….like an electrical shock shoot through the muscle. speaking of which I kept a pad of paper on my desk all day and kept scribbling notes – I’m going to type them up tonight but I think I wrote two pages for chapter 22 – bad girl! I should have been working…then on the way home I got an idea for the next chapter and spent the whole train ride writing – its only a 15-20 min ride but still… work just gets in the way – but I don’t knock having the job.

its sad isn’t it? – reduced to renting anything he’s in, even the bad movies – just to get a glimps – even the Disney stuff – oh the shame – I must admit I’ve seen Cheeta Girls 6 times (but I can use my niece as an enabeler he he he )
Its not even 8pm yet and I am tired – I think what ever this bug I’ve got is really starting to get to me….
Dani – yes they did get the mouse out of the sump pump pit – even though they very rarely get water in it (unlike my house where the sump pump runs every hour) dad was afraid that if the little guy got off the trap he might try to climb up the outflow pipe and get stuck in the check valve, not a good thing – I just never asked HOW they got it out since the pit is like 5 feet deep. Although I had visions of dad using a broom, sticking the end of the handle on the glue trap and pulling out that way….the funny thing is the opening in the cover to sump pump pit isn’t very big – and the mouse was still on the trap – I just can’t figure out how it even mangaed to get through the hole! Magic Mice!

Hi gals! I’m back home as of 10 minutes ago, and I’m feeling much better today. It was a tough week in some ways.
I wanted to let you all know I just downloaded episode 22 “Deep Dark” from i-Tunes!!!
Finally. I didn’t really expect to see it there, but checked “just in case” and was very happy to see it. Now I’ll have to play it on the big screen so I can enjoy the whole thing in one ‘bite’. lol
I think my family wants to run out to dinner so I’ll check back later.

I told my sister what I was doing and she just thought it was the cutest idea ever – all these grown women makeing valentines for each other…..just like back in school!

About the Sisterhood of the Traveling Books: I have the first four Brotherhood of the Black Dagger books – just got 2 thru 4 in the mail today – and I’m pretty sure that I’m supposed to mail the first one to Wildstar but I’m having a senior moment. Wildstar, can you confirm?
Does anyone read Maryjanice Davidson? Her stuff cracks me up and I’ve got a few stand alone novels I can send out if anyone’s interested. I mostly read detective mysteries, fantasy, most any novel about vampires. I have a bunch of Dean Koonz, and the Kim Harrison witch series. Some Dan Simmons, Simon Green…and some flat out mushy romance that I haven’t read but for some reason bought. I’ll email a list out later.
In the meantime, has TPTS (the powers that suck) said anything about Blood Ties being either canceled or renewed? I’m feeling the urge to give up hope but then the email came out today that Deep Dark had finally hit iTunes so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. I HATE the suspense!

Interview update- So, both interviews went pretty good. I was called back for Bankers for round 2 and probably could have signed on the dotted line w/Farmers as I sat there. BUT BUT BUT (there are so many of those) i’m not sure it’d be a good fit (i’m not nearly as passionate about insurance as the two guys I talked with were- though the second one was VERY cute and VERY VERY fun to be around!) and i can’t pay to get my license(s). That and Farmer’s would be the one i’d go with and they just scare the daylights out of me. They have it set up so that you own your own business in SIX MONTHS! WAY WAY WAY too much risk involved for me at this point in time. Same w/Bankers. I can’t afford a 100% commission job. I need to know that i’m gonna have at least a certain amount coming in every pay period.
Tomorrow I have an all day “interview” with Davis Direct Marketing. But, i have a feeling that it’s gonna turn out to be a bit like the insurance companies and if that’s the case then I’m not gonna be able to do it. I just need a set hourly wage. I can’t afford to NOT have it. So, before the interview is set to start, i’m going to see if there is someone I can ask questions and then based on those questions I’ll decide to stay for the interview or explain to them that I would rather not waste their time when it could be spent on a candidate that is more likely to take the job than not.
I’ve also decided to get a job at someplace like Starbucks so that i have SOME income coming in while I look for a “career” type job. Who knows…maybe i’ll apply to the Journal Sentinal (newspaper) and see what happens…

Laurel- thanks. ^_^ This decision (if it is one) came about from panic and a long discussion w/my aunt. I also talked to my stepmom last night and she supported the idea whole heartedly. Which is a big plus ’cause that girl is VERY vocal about things she doesn’t back. Knowing that most of my family are behind me is a big boost. I don’t have to worry about you guys. I know you’ll be there come Hell or high water so…YAY! Besides, if i get a job at starbucks i get to spend my day around COFFEE!!!!!!!!!! and what is wrong with THAT???? *in dreamy voice* nothing…

I think I’m having post Holiday depression. I’m in a complete funk and I haven’t even thought about Maddie’s birhtday yet which is next Thursday. Poor baby. I always said I wasn’t going to slight her on the B-day cause it was so close to Chirstmas and her I am the first year with NO plan at all for a party yet. I’m the worst mommy ever.

Then time got away from me with the holiday and with this being a 3 day work week, I’m all confused. I think I’m just blue. We finaly got the tree down last night and the house seems so blah without the decorations.

Dizey Dahlin sista I was wrong on Aiden’s full name. My mom confirmed to me that it was Aiden John Christopher. Well it is actually Aiden John Daniel. Aiden they choose themselves. John was my grandfather’s name and Daniel is Ryan’s middle name, that is my sister’s fiance.
Wow my grandfather will be gone a year on the 17th. I can’t believe a whole year has gone by already. There is going to be a memorial service for him on the 19th. I wish I knew what to expect. I know this year will be hard but it will get easier and easier.

Danae – I think I have a touch of SAD. I know my son really struggles with it and has moved to a much sunnier place. I usually do okay, unless I am sick (like now) or we have too many rainy days in a row (like now)….then I tend to get depressed easier.

My sister was just diagnosed with that seasonal light disorder – is that SAD? not is that sad but is that SAD…oh never mind you know what I mean – anyway thats on top of her depression – it was sugested she get a “grow light” like for plants…you can get the expensive prescription lights – but thats big $$$ and the plant lights run between $6 and $30…she said it is helping her. Whether it is or not I don’t know, but if she feels better, then i don’t care.. 😉
ok off to fix Es google account, check the emails one last time and see if I can typwe another paragraph or two befor lunch is over…..

Hey Maddie Mo. Have you tried the light bulbs that simulate sunlight? They’re great this time of the year. I used to get the winter blues, but the lights helped. Now, I know this will sound crazy, but going to the mall also works. I wonder if it’s the lighting and the colors. The sales aren’t bad either…

I saw some pages on the web about A particular episode of the show was being cancelled during the holiday season.. I never saw anything that stated that the WHOLE series was being cancelled.
I bet that there are re-runs of the show now because of the writer’s strike.

I spent the whole ride home from work writing – and as soon as I log out of here I’m goint o get everything typed up…
Himmie – Maddie Mo – my sister got plant grow light bulbs and put them in the ceiling fan/light in her living room she says its helped and thaey are less expensive thatn the “prescription” simulated sunlight bulbs…..we did find a table top light box but then you have to sit in fron t of the box for 20-30 minutes aday – by having the bulbs in a light fixture already in the room – she can do the things she would normally do – even cleaning 🙂

I think alot of people are affected by the seasonal change..Nikki and I are very moody during winter..and Chris is just impossible to live with in winter.
Man am I tired! Monique came over after work with the kids and they just left!
That baby Jake is a trip!!! I call him worm boy! I have never seen such a active baby! He is only 7 months and he stood up and walked around his pack and play! WTF? Little man on the run..like lightening all over my house!
And now big old Serge is demanding I watch a movie with him and Nikki! LOL!!
It could be worse right..he could hate me! He’s so funny..he always wants me to hang out with them..he was mad on New Years that I didn’t go out with them.
Brittany did well..she got home around 2:30 in a little pain and looking pale…she has to stay off her feet and rest all weekend and we’ll wait for the doc to call with results.
Anyway..they’re nagging..so bonne nuit mes amis until tomorrow!

Lots of us suffer from that SAD around here in Oregon (sun is in short supply) My husband does and takes meds/boy has it taken the edge off of feeling bummed about the weather! It really makes it more tolerable. I put a grow-light bulb in a lamp who knows if it works or not, worth a try one way or the other.

DebS- Boy do i hear you on that point. I just found out that i have to get another christmas present for my sister because my damn dad won’t let her have what i bought her. I went to shopping to look and try and figure something out…*sigh*
So, the panic button is now stuck on the “on” position…I am totally freaking out about my non-job status and bill payment…i’d love to just bang my head against the wall but i don’t think that’d be too productive…besides, i still have a headache (four days now…) am I allowed to breakdown yet?
